‘Mind Taming Techniques’ is a five week online course offering you evidence based knowledge and skills to help you to:

• Understand the nature of the human mind and why our minds become caught up in negative thought patterns.
• Understand the science of neuroplasticity and why it is possible to create lasting psychological change.
• Explore how unhelpful thoughts and beliefs are impacting your life and wellbeing.
• Learn how to skilfully respond to unhelpful thoughts and beliefs in order to create greater wellbeing, meaning and fulfilment.
• Clarify your values and personal vision for life, and learn how to move towards these by changing your responses to unhelpful thoughts and beliefs.
• Create a sustainable personal wellbeing routine to build psychological resilience.

What will you receive in the ‘Mind Taming Techniques’ Course?

During each week of the course you will receive:

– A video overview and introduction to the week’s lessons.
– Approximately 45 minutes of audio lessons.
– Downloadable Powerpoint slides that follow the content of each week of audio lessons.
– A downloadable PDF document of exercises and self-reflection tasks.
– A video of a one-minute wellbeing activity designed to help you build psychological resilience and healthy psychological habits.

Bonus content:

Week 1 – The Nature of the Human Mind and Creating Psychological Change
Date: 5th April 2019
What you will learn:
• Why our minds produce negative thoughts.
• Understand why negative thoughts are ‘sticky’ and we tend to become caught on them.
• Understand the science of neuroplasticity and why it is possible to create lasting psychological change.
• Understand some of the key influential factors in creating psychological change.
• Begin to build awareness of your unhelpful thinking patterns.
• Learn skills to ground yourself & to settle an unsettled mind.

Week 2 – Build awareness of your patterns of responding to unhelpful thoughts & Getting to know your values
Date: 12th April 2019
What you will learn:
• Learn how negative thinking affects our lives and our wellbeing.
• Gain clarity on your values and create a personal vision for your life.
• Learn how unhelpful thoughts and beliefs can move us away from living our values and creating our personal vision for life.
• Learn how to use your values to as compass to guide your responses to unhelpful thoughts and beliefs.
• Learn skills to connect with your values and to incorporate them into your daily life.

Week 3 – Tricky mind habits unveiled
Date: 19th April 2019
What you will learn:
• Get to know the tricky habits of our minds.
• Gain clarity on how tricky mind habits are affecting your life.
• Learn ways to remedy common tricky mind habits.
• Learn the skill of self compassion and how this can help you to skilfully respond to unhelpful thoughts and beliefs.

Week 4 – Responding to unhelpful thoughts
Date: 26th April 2019
What you will learn:
• Understand where we get stuck in our responding to unhelpful thoughts and beliefs.
• Learn about healthy and skilful responding to unhelpful thoughts and beliefs.
• Learn ways to untangle from unhelpful thoughts and beliefs.
• Learn how mindfulness can be used to respond skilfully to unhelpful thoughts and beliefs.

Week 5 – Getting to know your stories (unhelpful beliefs)
Date: 3rd May 2019
What you will learn:
• Learn why we have unhelpful stories or beliefs about ourselves.
• Get to know your stories.
• Explore how your stories are affecting your life and wellbeing.
• Learn how we get stuck with our stories.
• Learn ways to skilfully respond to your stories.
